: Talchum expresses the inconsistency of the ruling class as a satire.

talchum is used for socializing with farmer (subjugated class)

it is used for resolving hardness of farmer during agriculture period.

In the farm, farmers and their family set a torch(Jwibul) on a ridge between rice paddies near their village after sunset, fire weeds by setting a torch in the fifteenth day of January Lunar New Year. Fire breaks up everywhere, and it is called ‘Jwibulnori’. Depending on The magnitude of fire, people foretell the harvest of this year or village's fortune.

By setting a ‘Jwibul’, land becomes more fertile as it burns weeds, mouse holes, and insect.
